After installing firmware version 4.10, my Edge 830 did not offer the German language anymore. If the device was set to German, then it changed the language back to English.
The only way I found to re-enable German, was to connect the Edge 830 to a computer and resync it with Garmin Express. After synchronizing, the language was back available.
