Polar Vantage: First photos

Another shop listed the Polar Vantage V and Vantage M. This time with actual photos.

The bike shop www.westernbikeworks.com has listed the Polar Vantage V and Vantage M in their online shop. This time the items also include (hopefully real) photos of both watches.

Polar Vantage V

The Vantage V comes with a price tag of 499 USD. It has the 5 buttons (with one being red) from the V800. This also confirms that the new watch has a round watch face. Additionally, we will get a colored screen. The screen of the white Vantage V also shows a “Cardio load status”, which seems to be some kind of fitness level we know from Garmin (Also this photo shows a text cut off at the end. I’m excited to see how you can access the full text). The options available in the store are confirming the rumors too: Black, white and orange.
On the back side we see 4 green LEDs plus maybe four others. That could be the red LEDs some people were talking about. Also there are 4 metallic round items. They might be used for the skin contact measurement. Whatever metric they actually will bring to us.
Contrary to the rumors, this watch will not have different sizes or the shops does not offer them.
If you take look at the photos, I does not look if the Vantage will have replaceable wristbands, which I would really like to have.

Polar Vantage M

The Polar Vantage M will be purchasable for 279 USD. It has a round watch face too. Comes with a color screen and 5 hardware buttons. Unfortunately we do not have a photo of the back. So we cannot compare the sensors.
The Vantage M will come in two sizes “Small/Medium” and “Medium/Large”. The colors are black and white plus a red edition.

What do you think? Do you like the new layout? Or do you know anything more about the watches? Let us know in the comments.

EDIT: The shop removed the watches from the page. Seems that this release was premature too.

    1. Haven’t thought about it. But yes, I cannot see a plug. So either induction or they use something else as connector.

  1. They could use magnet or clamp on the 4 stainless steel bumps. Doesn’t prevent using them as sensor too but can provide power and USB sync.
